Learn about Ankle Sprain Treatment for your Sprained Ankle

Learn more about Ankle Sprain Treatment. How to treat a sprained ankle?

A sprained ankle, also known as ankle sprain, twisted ankle, rolled ankle, ankle injury or ankle ligament injury is a common medical condition where one or more of the ligaments of the ankle is torn or partially torn.

Strains can happen when the foot is rolled or turned beyond motions that are considered normal for the ankle. When an ankle is placed on uneven surface or experiences a large force when landing, the ligaments can be stretched into an abnormal position. The ligaments of the ankle hold the ankle bones and joint in position. They protect the ankle joint from abnormal movements - especially twisting, turning, and rolling of the foot. Info from Wikipedia

Sprained ankles heal very slowly. It can take up to two months for the pain to go away completely. A few years ago I had a sprained ankle myself and kept working in a warehouse. After more than two months the pain and the blue color finally disappeared.
