Bicycle Safety for Children is important and is your responsibility as a parent. Bicycling is fun for kids, it makes them mobile and helps them to stay fit. The question is just how to do it safely.
If your child learns to behave safely depends on your attitude as a parent. The skills your child learns about safety will determine if your child will ride safely or not in the future.
If you teach your kid and it has understood and applies this
knowledge you will feel confident when your kid goes on a bicycle ride.
In the beginning make sure your kid does:
Not play in the road.
No Rides on busy streets, but uses quiet streets instead
Stops and looks before entering roadways.
No Bicycle rides with traffic.
Learns to stop for all stop signs and obeys traffic signs and signals
No night riding
Wears the right bright clothes
Wears a helmet.
