The E Bike - Power-Assisted Bicycle
You can go a long distance with your e bike before you have to recharge your battery. How long the distance will be depends on various factors like your body weight, bicycle frame weight, road conditions, riding uphill or flat roads and how often you use the motor.
My electric bicycle goes about 60 km on average, before I have to recharge the battery.
In the United States an electric bike must have a top speed under 20 mph and the motor must produce less than 750 watts/1 hp. The federal government does not consider them as motor vehicles.
To pedal under your own power offers countless benefits! No Air pollution and it improves your health as pedaling is like doing exercises and reduces stress. Weight loss will follow.
Speed is 15 mph and I think it is awesome that more and more older people buy electric bikes. I think we can certainly accommodate e-bikes in the bike lanes. Some even have invisible motors.
For many people, who need a bicycle to get to work to the nearby town, the electric bike will be very helpful as they don't arrive at work sweaty and tired but are relaxed and fit.
On top of that, the prices of electric bikes are at a reasonable level so almost everybody can afford to get one. At around $1000.- you can get a decent bicycle and enjoy your ride to work.

Top Reasons to own an E Bike
It doesn't pollute the environment as electric bikes use no gasoline but electricity, of course. This makes it impossible to produce poisonous fumes like cars do.
You save heaps of money, because you don't pay for petrol, insurance, oil, upkeep and yearly taxes! Not to mention expensive repairs which can ruin you.
It just takes a few cents to recharge the battery and recharging takes just around 5 hours.
Considering all the costs to own a car the cost of an electric bike is a snap.
Who wants a gas-powered moped or motor-scooter and gets bothered by the noise and smell every time you use it? Not me anyway!
Just imagine in the summer heat, climbing hills are a challenge. But with a decent electric bicycle climbing hills is just a pleasant exercise.
Don't worry! You will arrive for work without feeling sweaty and needing a shower as you require much less effort than a standard bicycle to pedal along and are much faster on average. So you will arrive at work much earlier.
Save money and time, stay fit and have fun at the same time and lose some bodyweight. Electric bicycles are the way to go for many occasions.
Yes, there are situations where an e bike is faster because many car journeys are just short trips, for example to the supermarket, newsagent, video store or corner shop. Often you have to find a parking lot and waste time which means that you can do some of those little trips faster and in a healthier and cheaper way by bike.
The E Bike is classified into two different types:

Speed Difference
Some people prefer E Bikes that go faster than 15 mph because they like to ride faster and they think that 15 mph is too slow for them. Some believe an electric bicycle that just makes 15 mph is just for old people.
No problem! Buy an Electric Bike that goes faster than 15
mph. It will go about 5 mph faster, but this can make a difference for
you. In this case you may need a license.
Please check the Electric
Bicycle Law in your state.
I am perfectly happy to pedal along at 15 mph. But if you like more speed then a faster E-Bike might be right for you.
But be aware that the average difference in speed is just about 5 mph higher, but this can make an important difference for commuters who like to ride to work and live a little bit too far away from their job. For them it makes a big difference if they can overcome 5 miles more per hour.
Let's say the distance to your job is 20 miles. It would take you about 1 hour plus 15 minutes at 15 mph to ride to your office in town. You might think that this is too much time for you if you consider that the time of a two way ride to work is 2 hours plus 30 minutes. (One way = 1h 15m x 2 times = 2h 30m).
If you do this ride with an electric bike at 20 mph, you just need 1 hour for one way, plus 1 hour back, makes 2 hours. You save 30 minutes every day. This might make a difference to you if you consider buying an electric bicycle that goes (15 mph) or one that goes faster.
For many people is a ride of 1 hour to work acceptable, but if it takes longer they get the feeling that they lose too much time.
